A 45-year-old Katoomba man was stabbed in the shoulder with a pair of scissors last month by a woman who he was in an "intimate relationship" with at a Katoomba Street motel.
The couple were arguing when the woman, aged 20, also from Katoomba, stabbed the man in his left shoulder, causing a cut that bled profusely. She also cut her own hand during the incident, police said.
The attack happened about 10.30am on Friday May 22. The male victim was assisted by a passerby and police were called to attend. The female was questioned, arrested, and taken to Katoomba Police Station. She was charged with reckless grievous bodily harm and given conditional bail to appear at Katoomba Court on June 15. The offence carries a maximum penalty of 10 years imprisonment.
