A man has been given conditional bail in Dubbo Local Court on June 8, following a fatal crash involving a cyclist in Springwood on Saturday.
Emergency services were called to the Great Western Highway near Macquarie Road on Saturday June 6 at 2.30pm following reports of a crash involving a bicycle and a ute.
The 45-year-old male cyclist from Faulconbridge was taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition but later died.
The 64-year-old driver, Abbas Hassani of Lithgow, was not injured, but taken to Nepean Hospital for mandatory testing. Those results are currently not known. Following further investigations, he was arrested at 10.40pm on June 7 in Lithgow.
Hassani is charged with dangerous driving occasioning death, negligent driving occasioning death and not drive in lane. He was refused bail on Sunday, but given strict conditional bail on Monday before Registrar P Mulheron. Those bail conditions include reporting daily to Lithgow Police Station and surrendering a $10,000 deposit.
