A car landed on top of another car in the Hope Street carpark at Blaxland on Tuesday afternoon when a driver reversed over an elevated parking level, falling onto the level below.
Blue Mountains Police Inspector Sean McWhirter said the driver, a Blaxland man, aged 78, had reversed in and out of the parking spot before reversing completely backwards, through a railing and off the side of the elevated carpark, landing on the roof of another vehicle.
The vehicle then rolled onto the driver's side of vehicle, trapping the driver.
"As a result of the collision, the roof of the second vehicle was dented - the windscreen, back window and sunroof are completely shattered," Insp McWhirter said.
Luckily no-one was in the second vehicle.
Emergency services attended and assisted the driver from his vehicle, who was uninjured.
