A Kingswood man who ram raided an adventure clothing store in Leura last year has been sentenced to one year and eight months' jail.

A Toyota Hilux ute was reversed into the Explora Co store in the mall in the early hours of Saturday, August 3, smashing the front windows and collapsing the door frame.

Up to 160 items of clothing, including jackets, pants, gloves, beanies and bikinis, were stolen. The loss was valued at up to $60,000.

Michael Caine Rogers, 31, was arrested on September 5 and charged with aggravated break and enter in company/steal and with false representation resulting in a police investigation.

He was sentenced in Penrith court to one year and eight months for the break and enter and six months on the second charge, to be served concurrently.

With a non-parole period of 14 months, Rogers will be released in November this year.

After the raid, Blue Mountains Police Detective Inspector Scott McAlpine said: "A vehicle believed to be involved in the incident was located abandoned in nearby Wentworth Falls and subsequently seized for examination."

Rogers was arrested shortly afterwards.
