A council upgrade of the children's playground at Summerhayes Park in Winmalee has been completed.
The improved facilities make the space more inclusive for users of all abilities.
Council was awarded $50,000 under the NSW government's 'Everyone Can Play' program in 2019. It matched the funding with a further $50,000 to significantly improve the play experience.
"Daily play and social connection is very important to children's development, especially those who can be isolated by their circumstances. Inclusivity is vital in building community resilience," said Blue Mountains mayor Mark Greenhill.
The works include new fencing, seating, accessible paths and more sensory and social play elements, along with elements of nature play and an upgraded swing with lumbar support.
