A 35-year-old man has fallen about three metres from the scaffolding of a construction site opposite the Panthers Penrith Rugby Leagues Club today [Wednesday July 29].
The construction worker fell onto concrete and sustained potential spinal injuries and fractures to his limbs shortly before 8.45am.
CareFlight's Rapid Response Helicopter landed in the construction site's carpark 15 minutes after the call for help from NSW Ambulance. Fire and Rescue NSW and NSW Ambulance emergency personnel were on scene working to extricate the patient from the third storey via a crane.
When the man was safely retrieved, CareFlight's specialist doctor and NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic performed a trauma assessment and conducted an ultrasound on the worker.
CareFlight's clinical team continued providing care as the patient was taken by road in a stable condition with NSW Ambulance to Westmead Hospital.
