Following popular Online Storytime and Online Babytime programs launched in response to COVID-19 restrictions, Blue Mountains Library is now presenting a weekly children's art class called Creative Corner Online.
The class is presented by renowned Blue Mountains artist, Naomi Oliver. Naomi Oliver has delivered art classes and school holiday workshops at Blue Mountains Libraries for almost 10 years. She is an award-winning artist who has collaborated with many other artists and exhibited Australia-wide and internationally.
The free art classes - aimed at primary school children aged five to 12 years - will run weekly on Thursday afternoons during terms three and four on the Blue Mountains Libraries' Facebook page.
Mayor Cr Mark Greenhill said: "This is another fabulous initiative launched by Blue Mountains Libraries during this pandemic.
"Creative Corner Online is an invaluable free resource for parents and carers who will welcome another opportunity to connect their kids with quality after-school recreation, when there are still so many activities currently on hold due to COVID-19 restrictions."
Creative Corner Online is every Thursday during school terms at 3.30pm: The term three schedule is:
- August 6, web painting
- August 13, tissue paper painting
- August 20, where you live!
- August 27, tissue tie-dye
- September 3, crystal cluster collage
- September 10, oil pastel printing
- September 17, 3D hand drawings
- September 24, masked owl
In addition, for younger children, Blue Mountains Libraries run Babytime on the first and third Fridays of each month at 10am, and Storytime every Wednesday during school terms at 11am.
