A 57-year-old man from St Clair was robbed and his car stolen at East Blaxland in the early morning on Tuesday, July 28.
The man had stepped out of his car outside the East Blaxland Country Style Bakery in the Old Bathurst Road carpark at 4.15am when a dark vehicle stopped behind him. The man got back in his car.
"Three unknown persons have then exited the suspect vehicle, with one approaching the victim and smashing the driver's side window of his vehicle," said Blue Mountains Police Detective Inspector Scott McAlpine.
"The victim has been able to exit via the passenger door as the unknown male has gained entry and driven the vehicle away."
Two people then entered the bakery and demanded money before fleeing on foot towards the original vehicle.
The St Clair man's car was found several hours later on Nepean Avenue, Penrith, but the identity of the offenders is unknown.

Highway graffiti
About 5.30pm on Saturday, July 25, a Warrimoo man, 26, and a Jamisontown man, 23, were under the Great Western Highway at Linden.
Police patrolling the area, caught the pair allegedly spray painting a large graffiti tag on a concrete wall.
"They were searched and 26 spray paint cans were located in their possession," said Det Insp McAlpine.
They will appear at Penrith Local Court on September 3.
