Acute Misfortune, the acclaimed film about Wentworth Falls artist Adam Cullen, premiered on streaming platform Stan this week.
Starring award-winning actor Daniel Henshall, the Australian drama became available to view on August 3.
"We can't wait to share it with all of you who were unable to see it at the cinema... We could not be more proud of this film, or of what it has achieved," director and co-writer Thomas M. Wright emailed supporters this week.
Filmed at various locations in the Blue Mountains in late 2017-early 2018, Acute Misfortune was named "The Best Australian Film of 2019" by The Guardian and one of 'The Ten Best Australian Films of the Decade".
The Hollywood Reporter described it as "one of the year's most striking and accomplished directorial debuts" while in a five-star review for the Guardian, Luke Buckmaster said it was "the best and most interesting Australian biopic since Chopper in 2000".

Among other honours, the drama was nominated for Best Independent Film at the AACTA awards and won The Age Critics Prize at the Melbourne International Film Festival.
Viewers were full of praise for the film following its streaming release, describing it as "terrific work of Australian cinema" and "one of the most under-recognised cinematic achievements of the past few years".
Acute Misfortune was Wright's feature-film directorial debut. He co-scripted the film with journalist Erik Jensen, based on Jensen's own non-fiction work, Acute Misfortune: The Life and Death of Adam Cullen.
The film charts the complicated relationship between the Archibald Prize-winning painter and Sydney Morning Herald journalist, Jensen, whom the artist enticed to the Blue Mountains in 2008 to write his biography.
