Australia's own "King of Vaudeville" Mic Conway and multi-instrumentalist Robbie Long will light up the Blue Mountains Theatre stage on Friday, August 28, with an evening of madcap musical mischief.
Aria-award winning Mic Conway is the quintessential all-around entertainer: a storyteller, musician, tap dancer, juggler, magician and more. He will be familiar to many through his Captain Matchbox Whoopee Band, National Junk Band, Circus Oz, successful album releases and extensive touring and festival appearances across the country and worldwide.
Together with his side-kick Robbie Long, a flatpickin' guitar champion, Conway will delight the audience with their unique brand of vaudeville, meets cabaret, meets magic, meets fire-eating and joyously anarchic fun.
They will feature Captain Matchbox favourites like My Canary Has Circles Under His Eyes and a fiery version of Masochism Tango as well as a swag of Conway originals including Jug Band Man, which was featured on ABC TV's Spicks and Specks.
Stripped back, irreverent and shameless, Conway and Long play unusual and idiosyncratic tunes to make jaws drop, toes tap and sides split: just what the doctor ordered in these uncertain times.
Proudly supported by Blue Mountains Theatre and Blue Mountains City Council.
