Nominations for development programs in a variety of sports at the Western Sydney Academy of Sport have opened.
Young athletes residing in western Sydney can apply for the programs, developed in collaboration with the recognised state sporting organisation for each sport.
"Our programs bring together technical and skill development resources, educational providers and personal development activities which combine to provide a holistic program delivered at some of the region's best venues," a WSAS spokeswoman said.
"Our high performance training programs have established benchmark standards and value in the officially recognised development pathway for young athletes in sport - and we work closely with each state sporting organisation, the NSW Institute of Sport and local associations to ensure our programs are fully endorsed and provide significant value to the athlete."
Nominations for the following programs have already opened: cycling, triathlon, Lone Star (for athletes not in mainstream sports), softball and golf, so get in quickly to apply. AFLW opens August 19, and netball and netball umpiring on September 1.
