A National Parks spokeswoman said today [August 19] "Our planned closure of the Federal Pass between Dardanelles and Furber Steps junctions (19 August - 4 September) has been postponed. The track remains open and we will advise new closure dates as soon as possible." The planned helicopter operation at Blackheath tomorrow (20 August) has also been postponed. The Fairfax Track will remain open tomorrow.

National Parks & Wildlife Service has announced the Federal Pass between the junctions of Dardanelles Pass and Furber Steps will be closed from Wednesday [August 19] until Friday September 4.
Repairs are being made to a flood-damaged bridge on Federal Pass.
There is a helicopter working in the Federal Pass area at Katoomba on Thursday August 20 delivering walking track materials to areas that will be closed as per the Park Alerts page for Blue Mountains National Park:
Also closed is the Federal Pass between the Scenic Railway and Golden Stairs due to a new landslide.
What is open is the Furber Steps to Scenic Railway and the Giant Stairway to Leura via Leura Forest.
