UPDATE: TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 15: A second student at Blue Mountains Grammar School has tested positive for COVID-19, NSW Health has confirmed.
"The school is now closed while further tracing and cleaning is undertaken. This case will be included in tomorrow's official numbers," NSW Health posted on Facebook on Tuesday morning.
"NSW Health have today informed the leadership of Blue Mountains Grammar School that a second student has tested positive for COVID-19," Grammar headmaster Ian Maynard posted on the school's website on Tuesday.
"The safety and wellbeing of our school community is our paramount concern and so we will continue to work closely with NSW Health to ensure that all necessary health advice is implemented.
"Students, their families and school staff have been told of the confirmed case and the school is working closely with NSW Health to ensure our school community receives appropriate support.
"Information about the operational status of Blue Mountains Grammar School is being provided to parents, students and school staff through the school's usual information channels. Further advice will be provided later today."
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 12: A student from Blue Mountains Grammar School is one of six new COVID-19 cases in NSW, health authorities confirmed today [Saturday, September 12].
"Anyone already identified as a close contact [of the student] is being informed they must immediately get tested and isolate for 14 days," said NSW Health's deputy chief medical officer, Dr Jeremy McAnulty.
The school is being cleaned.
Blue Mountains Grammar School headmaster, Ian Maynard, said the "safety and wellbeing of our school community is our paramount concern", in a post on the school's website.

NSW Health also issued on update on a previously reported case at Katoomba Aquatic Centre on Friday, September 4.
Anyone who was at the centre between 11.30am-1.30pm on this day is advised to monitor for symptoms and immediately self-isolate and get tested if symptoms develop, however mild, and remain isolated until a negative result is received.
Symptoms of COVID-19 including fever, cough, sore/scratchy throat, shortness of breath or a loss of taste or smell.
The leisure centre is closed until further notice and will be deep cleaned.
Blue Mountains mayor Mark Greenhill said: "We all need to be vigilant at this time and get tested if we display any of the symptoms.
"My thoughts remain with those who have been affected, including the Blue Mountains Grammar School community."
A COVID-19 drive-through testing clinic is available at Blue Mountains Hospital, and can be access via Woodlands Road Katoomba. Opening hours are 9am-12.30pm and 1pm-4pm 7 days per week.
