Australia's rising star of jazz, blues and ballads, Frances Madden, will launch her new album Beautiful World, at The Joan on November 28.
The Joan's concert and music program producer, Valda Silvy said: "Having Frances launch her album at the Joan is a thrill for the venue and for music lovers in the west. For this special event, Frances on vocals and piano will be backed by an eight-piece all-star band featuring some of Sydney's most talented musicians."
Madden has drawn acclaim: "Frances has a wonderful feeling for jazz and blues standards but what makes her a real stand-out are her original songs and unique style," said James Morrison.
"Frances is 'one to watch' and I look forward to her upcoming album," said Mal Stanley from ABC Jazz.
Madden's first studio album If This Were a Dream went to number 5 on the ARIA Jazz Charts. She plays to full houses at leading jazz venues and festivals around Australia and has supported touring international artists including Dionne Warwick and Grammy-Award winner Gregory Porter as well as headlining at the acclaimed JZ Club in Shanghai.
With a nod to her jazz roots, Beautiful World will also appeal to Madden's growing adult contemporary following both in Australia and overseas - the album will also be released by Universal Music in Japan early in 2021.
For this special launch, Madden has assembled a superb band featuring some of Sydney's finest young musicians with violin virtuoso Ian Cooper as her special guest.
Frances Madden will perform at 7.30pm on November 28 at the Q Theatre, Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre - Penrith. Tickets for the live performance and the live stream are available from the Joan website or www.francesmadden.com
