When you play the newest Australian game of Monopoly the community chest card could issue you a fine of $50 for hoarding 240 toilet rolls.
It's just one of the features of the COVID-19 inspired Monopoly game which is giving money to bushfire affected areas, including the Blue Mountains.
The Blue Mountains is among the local communities from around the nation featured in the custom Australian Community Relief Monopoly board game to raise funds due to the impacts of various disasters including fires, floods and COVID-19.
The edition has Victoria's Mildura and Gippsland replacing the top squares of Mayfair and Park Lane from the classic Monopoly board, along with the Blue Mountains replacing the bargain basement Euston Road, just before the jail.
A picture of The Three Sisters in Katoomba is one of several in the centre of the board. It is being launched today [Wednesday November 25].
A spokeswoman said it included a customised Community Chest and Chance playing cards, making the entire game a truly Australian experience.
"As well as showcasing some of the regions that were severely impacted in 2020, the game has also been created to highlight the community spirit and strength of these stunning locations," she said.
She said $5 from each game will go to the Australian Red Cross.
Charlotte Waalkens, from Winning Moves Australia, makers of custom Monopoly boards licensed from Hasbro said: "We wanted to provide Australians with something positive in the challenging year that is 2020, and highlight how incredible our own backyard is, whilst also supporting Australians in need.
"The communities chosen have all gone through a tough time for one reason or another as everyone has in 2020 and we thought they deserved something special to remind everyone how incredible they are, and help inject some positive spirit through the Australian Community Relief Monopoly game board was unbelievably difficult.
"We hope it will also bring a bit of much needed joy to Australian families over the holidays. "
Other communities featured on the board include: Belconnen, Kalgoorlie, Batemans Bay, Port Arthur, Queanbeyan, Busselton, Broken Hill, Devonport, Karratha, Strahan, Bundaberg, Katherine, Coober Pedy, Noosa, Tennant Creek, Mount Gambier, Winton, Palmerston and Port Augusta.
The game sells for $60 and is available at www.BigW.com.au and other locations.
