A prisoner charged with fatally assaulting a man accused of murdering Gold Coast teenager Larissa Beilby has had his case mentioned in court.
The injured man Zlatko Sikorsky died in hospital from injuries he sustained during the altercation at Wolston Correctional Centre in November.
Isaac James Martin, 25, was earlier given a notice to appear in court after being charged with unlawful striking causing death.
He did not appear when his case was mentioned in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
Martin remains in custody and is expected to appear in the same court on March 15.
Sikorsky, 37, was rushed to Princess Alexandra Hospital with critical injuries after the fight at the prison on November 10.
He succumbed to his injuries 10 days later, police said.
Sikorsky was accused of murdering and torturing 16-year-old Larissa on June 23, 2018 and had been awaiting trial.
The teenager's battered body was found inside a barrel on the back of a ute abandoned at a residential complex on the Gold Coast.
Chantelle Maker told a committal hearing at Beenleigh Magistrates Court she gave the teenager methamphetamine in the lead-up to her death after Sikorsky beat her.
"She needed to stay awake so she could still be alive. She was purple from head to toe," Ms Maker told the court.
Ms Maker said she was "petrified" of Sikorsky, who she alleged had abducted her on more than one occasion and threatened to kill her.
She also recalled helping Sikorsky allegedly steal the black ute in which Larissa's body was later found.
