LATEST COVID-19 DEVELOPMENTS:
* Brisbane's hospitals, aged care facilities, prisons and disability services are locked down for three days, for the second time in a fortnight, after a man was infectious with coronavirus in the city for a week.
* Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk says the 26-year-old tested positive on Thursday and visited at least nine different venues across the city after he became infectious last Friday.
* Everyone in the Brisbane City and Moreton Bay council areas is being urged to wear masks in crowded places and socially distance.
* Prime Minister Scott Morrison visited the Melbourne plant where 50 million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine will be produced.
* Mr Morrison revealed the final GP clinic in the country to receive initial vaccine doses, at flood-hit Taree, had received its batch.
* Senior health officials insist there is no need for Australia to rush because there is no "burning platform" like in Europe or the US where the virus is rampant.
* Labor is calling for the Australian Electoral Commission to investigate billionaire mining magnate Clive Palmer over distributing anti-vaccination flyers in his political party's colours.
* Mr Morrison said the government was doing everything in its power to clamp down on false information being spread by Mr Palmer and others.
* Australia is weighing up sending more locally produced vaccines to Papua New Guinea where a coronavirus nightmare is unfolding.
* Independent cinemas are being thrown a $20 million coronavirus lifeline. The scheme is expected to support 390 cinemas across the country with one-off grants of up to $85,000.
* Victoria has eliminated coronavirus after going four weeks without a new locally transmitted case. The Health Department confirmed the milestone on Friday, following 13,800 tests. The state will resume receiving international flights in early April.
* Visitor and mask restrictions are set to significantly ease in Victoria from 6pm on Friday. People will be able to have 100 visitors at home, up from the previous cap of 30, while public gatherings can double from 100 to 200.
* Masks will no longer be required in retail settings, however Victorians will still need to wear them on public transport, in taxis and rideshare vehicles and in aged care facilities and hospitals.
AUSTRALIAN CORONAVIRUS NUMBERS:
* Australia reported one new locally acquired case of the coronavirus in Queensland on Friday. There were 12 overseas acquired cases reported in hotel quarantine: Three in NSW, seven in Queensland, one in the Northern Territory and one in South Australia.
* The national death toll is 909: Victoria 820, NSW 56, Tasmania 13, WA 9, Queensland 6, SA 4, ACT 3 (Two Queensland residents who died in NSW have been included in the official tolls of both states).
