Blue Mountains City Council has released a draft plan of management and draft master plan for Wentworth Falls Lake Park and Buttenshaw Park at Springwood.
These documents will provide a blueprint for how these parks will be used and managed in the future.
A plan of management is a high level, legal document which outlines permissible uses, developments and the level of maintenance of the land. A master plan is a more detailed plan that guides the future design and layout of these spaces.
The master plan for Wentworth Falls Lake Park considers upgrades such as a proposed accessible walkway over the dam wall, a new, accessible viewing platform, a community kick-about space, additional picnic facilities and a new multi-purpose shelter.
Proposals for Buttenshaw Park includes the development of a proposed new play space for older kids, as well as upgrades to the toilet facilities and carpark.
The community is invited to have their say on these documents and the future of these important spaces by taking part in the surveys at yoursay.bmcc.nsw.gov.au.
These surveys will be open until 5pm on Monday, May 24.
A drop in session on the master plan and plan of management for Buttenshaw Park will also be held in the Group Fitness Room at Springwood Aquatic Centre on Sunday, May 16 from 1-5pm.

A drop-in session and a public hearing into the management zones (categories) for Wentworth Falls Lake Park was held on Saturday, May 8.
The upgrades to the parks are just two of 10 projects that will be completed across the Mountains over the next three years.
These projects are valued at more than $18.7 million and will be funded under the Western Parkland City Liveability Program, which is part of the Western Sydney City Deal (WSCD). The WSCD is a 20 year-agreement between Australian and NSW governments, and the eight local Councils of the Western Parkland City.
