Facebook's regional roadshow has started again and the first stop is the Blue Mountains.
The Boost with Facebook program heads to the Mountains on Tuesday May 18.
The free face-to-face education event will help boost Australian small businesses' digital capabilities with best-practice education directly from the Facebook team, a Facebook spokesperson said.
The program brings free digital skills workshops to regional communities, and is designed to empower local businesses and communities in regional Australia with the digital skills to help them engage successfully and safely online.
The sessions will be hosted by two Facebook community trainers who will share tips, tools and resources to help small businesses boost their digital skills.
The workshops cover a range of topics, from the basics of using Facebook and Instagram, to more advanced skills such as using Messenger, Shops or Advertising to reach new customers and grow a business.
There are also sessions on community building with case studies and insights of businesses from the Mountains.
A guest speaker from Canva will also lead an interactive session, where attendees can learn how to kickstart their creativity.
The event is at Fairmont Resort & Spa Blue Mountains from 8.30am - 2.pm. Businesses can find more details and register for the event here. (https://bwfbluemountains2021.splashthat.com/)
Alisha Elliott, head of policy programs for Facebook Australia and New Zealand said: "We're excited to get back out in the community with our Boost with Facebook regional roadshow kickstarting in the Blue Mountains.
"The pandemic has shown how important digital skills are for small businesses. In fact according to the Deloitte Digital Tools in Crisis and Recovery SMB Report, from August 2020, 36 per cent of Australian SMBs [small and mid sized businesses] recently surveyed started using or increased their usage of social media platforms when making sales since the outbreak.
"We know Aussies businesses have had a challenging year but so we want to help them continue to grow, stay resilient and adapt over time."
Since 2018, the Boost with Facebook program has helped more than 25,000 Australian businesses learn digital skills to grow and participate in local and global economies, she said.
The sessions are brought by MTNS MADE, Blue Mountains City Council and Boost with Facebook and hosted by Facebook Community Trainers who will share their tips for boosting your business by using platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Shops and Messenger.
The one day event will cover:
- Workshop 1: The Basics of Facebook and Instagram for Business
- Workshop 2: Connecting with customers using Messenger and Shops
- Workshop 3: Advertising on Facebook
- Workshop 4: Building communities with Groups and Fundraising
