Rescheduled from 2020, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow is rolling in to Penrith on Tuesday, June 22, delivering the hottest acts direct from Australia's largest comedy festival.
Featuring an all-killer, no-filler line-up of Australian stars, talented newcomers and international performers: Andy Saunders, Lizzie Hoo, Nikki Britton, Sam Taunton and more to be announced.
Andy Saunders has an extraordinary ability to use humour to break down barriers and stereotypes, taking satire to new heights. A Biripi man from Taree, he has quickly evolved as one of the most popular and successful acts performing around the country today.
Lizzy Hoo has had a meteoric rise from her 2017 debut to the prestigious Just for Laughs Comedy Festival at the Sydney Opera House, and sell-out shows over the past two years, performing with Tom Gleeson, Rove McManus and, most recently Denise Scott, Cal Wilson and Geraldine Hickey at the Adelaide Fringe. She explores her Chinese/Malaysian/Irish/Australian heritage, growing up in Brisbane, shark attacks and dating white guys.
Nikki Britton started out as an actor and exploded on to the comedy scene in 2011 with her warm, lightening-paced style and electrifying stage presence. She has appeared on many prestigious stages to sold-out houses around the country and internationally including the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. You may have also seen Britton playing the scene-stealing Marlo on Peter Helliar's How to Stay Married on Network 10.
Sam Taunton is one of the hottest young Aussie voices on the Australian comedy circuit. He was nominated for the prestigious 'Best Newcomer Award' and 'Best Comedy Award' and has performed comedy all over the world, culminating in winning the MCF Pinder Prize. Taunton makes a welcome return to The Joan after being part 2017's sell-out MICF Roadshow line-up.
Buckle up for a night of stand-up, sketch, satire, silliness and song in this rip-roaring road trip of a life-time.
