Blue Mountains residents have enjoyed the first winter snowfall of the year with Upper Mountains villages turned into a sea of white today [Thursday, June 10].
The whiteout was at its strongest at Mount Victoria and Blackheath but strong snowfalls were also experienced further down at Wentworth Falls.
Visitors to Katoomba and Leura also enjoyed fun in the snow, with Katoomba's Melrose Park transformed into a winter playground.
The Bureau of Meteorology has predicted a 40 per cent chance of snow in Katoomba on Friday, with a chilly maximum of eight degrees.
There is a 60 per cent chance of snow at Mt Victoria on Friday with the temperature predicted to be an even chillier six degrees.
