Deputy mayor Chris Van der Kley has announced the addition of local business owner and former councillor Dave Clark to his Independent ticket for the now-delayed council election.
The deputy mayor said: "Dave Clark brings experience and local knowledge to our campaign. I am standing strong against overdevelopment and I know Dave's deep commitment to our environment will benefit the Blue Mountains and help protect our quality of life."
Former Councillor Clark served from 2008-2012 and made cleaner creeks and streams a high priority.
"Dave and I had a great working relationship when he was on council and I look forward to working with him during the campaign," said Cr Van der Kley.
Joining Clr Van der Kley and former Clr Clark is Ms Susan Streeter. Before retiring Ms Streeter worked as a public servant and industry policy adviser. A keen dog walker, she is also very concerned about ensuring sustainable development in our sensitive environment and protecting the Mountains way of life.
Mr Clark replaced James Beckett who was originally listed as the number two candidate on the deputy mayor's council ticket.
Clr Van der Kley left the Liberal Party after 38 years membership over concerns that a pro-development faction had taken control and was too closely associated with pro-development lobbyists.
