Glenbrook tennis courts are set to be firmly in the hands of the tennis club, after council agreed to offer a 21-year lease to the club.
Glenbrook Community Tennis Club has looked after the three courts at the complex for many years. But after the old lease expired in 2013, it has been operating on a month-to-month basis.
The club approached council in May seeking a new, long-term lease.
Council acknowledged that the club has looked after the courts efficiently and properly, spending about $25,000 on well maintenance, repairs, cleaning, gardening and other operational costs.
The club pays $650 a year, below market rental but in recognition of its considerable investment.
Council has agreed in principal to a new lease with an initial 11-year term with an option for a further 10 years.
Details of the planned lease will be posted on the "have your say" section of the council's website for community comment.
