Blue Mountains residents are invited to join The United Nations International Day of Peace live event on Tuesday, September 21. This event was designated by the General Assembly in 1981, to be observed annually on September 21.
The UN Day of Peace offers an invitation to all humanity to look beyond any difference, to seeking to contribute to building a culture of peace.
The Blue Mountains Interfaith Group, which is arranging the local commemoration, come together as individuals from diverse backgrounds, different religions and spiritual traditions.
The 2021 Peace Day theme is "Recovering better for an equitable and sustainable world". People are invited to consider how to unite recovery from the global pandemic and in all efforts address climate concerns.
The Blue Mountains Interfaith Group are inviting all concerned people to join with them in a gathering offering meditation, prayer, music and reflection via Zoom at 11am Tuesday, September 21 (this will be subsequently available on YouTube).
