Katoomba man airlifted to hospital after falling four metres from ladder

A Katoomba man in his 70s was airlifted to Westmead Hospital after falling about four metres from a ladder while conducting maintenance on his home yesterday afternoon (Monday, October 25).

The man sustained injuries to his face and hand.

The Mounties Care CareFlight Helicopter landed in Melrose Park about 3.50pm where NSW Ambulance paramedics transported the patient to meet CareFlight's medical team.

CareFlight's specialist doctor and NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic conducted a clinical assessment on the patient, carrying out an ultrasound as well as administering pain relief while taking spinal precautions.

CareFlight's medical team provided ongoing observation for the man as he was airlifted to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.
