COVID positive case confirmed at Springwood Aquatic and Fitness Centre

Those attending Springwood Aquatic and Fitness Centre on Tuesday, November 9, are being asked to monitor themselves for COVID-19 symptoms after a person with the illness presented at the facility.

NSW Health is contacting those who were at the centre on the day via the Service NSW app. Those showing symptoms should get tested.

In a media statement, Blue Mountains Council said that NSW Health was not providing the time of the infected person's visit, nor had it recommended the facility be closed.

It also stated that cleaning of the centre had been carried out.

"Only those who are fully vaccinated are currently able to visit the centre, due to the Public Health Order," the council statement continued.

"The person who visited the centre on November 9, who is fully vaccinated, may have been potentially infectious at the time they visited, but NSW Health consider the risk of contraction to be low."

Blue Mountains Mayor Mark Greenhill said it was a strong reminder to all that the risk of COVID-19 was still real.
