Americana/alt-country fans in the Blue Mountains, this is a night not to be missed. If you like your tunes with a bit of twang and some heart worn storytelling, this show has three fantastic acts for you packed into one big night of music on December 10 in the Baroque Room, Katoomba.
Blue Mountains/Sydney based troubadours Copperline return with the first single from their upcoming second record (produced by Shane Nicholson). They'll also be bringing the dynamic live show that's won them a loyal following at festivals in Tamworth, Canberra and of course the Mountains.
Take some disarmingly honest and heart-worn storytelling, flavour it with generous lashings of twang and grit and you get Copperline. The Sydney/Blue Mountains alt-country four-piece have lived and breathed the highs and lows of the rock and low life - and that experience can't help but find its way into their music.
After decades touring as hired guns for Aus music royalty including Steve Kilby (the Church), Jeff Duff and Peter Fenton (Crow), the boys launched their debut record Rusty Fords and Weatherboards (produced by Shane Nicholson) back in 2018. Decades in the making, it showcased both Copperline's musical versatility and reverence for the classic song writing of everyone from Steve Earle and Lucinda Williams to Tom Waits.
On the back of strong media interest in the record, Copperline set off on the road, taking their dynamic show around the country including debut festival appearances at Tamworth and the Blue Mountains Blues and Roots Festival.
While the long COVID hibernation might have interrupted touring plans, it also gave Copperline time to work on a second record. The band returned to their home at Shelter Studios in Katoomba in early 2021, again with collaborator Shane Nicholson, with a brand new batch of songs. The result is a body of work that builds on the band's trademark blend of story telling and twang, while also exploring broader and richer soundscapes and moods.
Also hailing from the Blue Mountains and Sydney, indie folk outfit Little Shoes bring their new expanded line-up, exquisite melodies and stories of whimsy, chaotic love and the inertia of life. They'll be bringing a swag of new offerings from their upcoming second record.
Fresh from the release of his infectious single, This Is Not The End, Chris Carrapetta brings his trademark brand of honest and heartfelt brand of story telling and songwriting. He also has a fresh batch of tunes to share.
The event starts at 7pm at the Baroque Room, Katoomba St, Katoomba. Enter via the Carrington hotel driveway. Tickets are available at bit.ly/copperlinebaroque or on the door.
