Penrith Championship League (WCL) power forward Nic Pozoglou has been selected to represent NSW at the 2015 Under 20 National Championships, to be held in Dandenong, Victoria, from February 22-28.
Penrith WCL men's head coach John Hennessy will take on the role of assistant coach, and Ashling O'Doherty has been chosen as a reserve for the NSW Under 20 women's team.
Meanwhile, Penrith WCL Women's point guard Tahlia Tupaea has led the Australian Gems to a win in the 2014 FIBA Oceania Under 20 Championships.
Australia scored a 98-65 win over New Zealand in the final game, after previously crushing American Samoa 113-8, New Caledonia 125-22, Guam 131-9 and Tahiti 122-13.
The Gems have now qualified for the 2015 FIBA Under 19 World Championships, which will be held in Crete in June 2015.
The South Sudanese Australian Summer Slam is a multicultural basketball tournament held every year for over 40 teams and 400 players from around Australia.
Games will be played at the Penrith Valley Regional Sports Centre, Herbert Street, Cambridge Park from December 19-21.
Penrith's WCL men's squad begins preparations for the 2015 season this week and coach Hennessy will be keen to see how his four new faces fit into the program.
Hennessy also plans to have at least one pre-season game prior to Christmas.
