A two-year-old child has drowned in his family's swimming pool in Coffs Harbour.

At 4.30 pm on Saturday, the boy's mother found him unconscious in the pool at their home in the suburb of Upper Orara.
An ambulance was called and the boy was taken to Coffs Harbour Base Hospital but he died in the hospital.
Officers from Coffs and Clarence Local Area Command are investigating the incident.
The Coroner will prepare a report.
