National 'Yellow Ribbon' road safety week was launched at the Springwood Hub and Theatre on Monday. Guest speakers included St Thomas Aquinas principal Serge Rosato, NRMA western region director Fiona Simson, NSW Police traffic patrol assistant commissioner John Hartley, NSW parliamentary secretary for roads and ports Andrew Gee, and Jodi McKay, the NSW shadow minister for roads, among others. A road safety statement from Governor General Peter Cosgrove was read out at the launch and a video message from Prime Minister Tony Abbott was played.
