The real State of Origin series is not the only thing that's tied at the moment. The second match in the annual 'School of Origin' series between Faulconbridge and Springwood public schools on July 24 finished a thrilling 34-all draw.
There were some brilliant tries scored in a fast-flowing clash, including some fine individual efforts by Springwood's powerful forwards busting through the line and their wingers who regularly found space out wide.
Faulconbridge answered each of their opponents' tries with tries of their own, spreading the ball to great effect to service their speedy finishers on the wings.
The home crowd at Faulconbridge had plenty to cheer about their team's performance , which was a great improvement after their 30-10 loss in the opening game.
Faulconbridge coach Trevor McDonald said his team was overpowered in game one so they changed tactics and it worked.
"We just had to use speed instead of size and find ways to run around their big guys," Mr McDonald said.
Springwood's coach Steve Cross said it was a cracker of a game.
"Faulconbridge worked hard and did very well today - they have a super coach," Mr Cross said.
"The footy was great by both sides and there was really good spirit shown."
Game three of the School of Origin will be played at Springwood High in a couple of weeks.
