The Penrith Basketball Association has taken out the Under 16 Division One Premiership double in the NSW Basketball Metro League competition.
Penrith's U16 women started the day boldly in the opening game at the Hills Basketball Stadium and did not let the Sydney City Comets get a sniff of victory, cruising to a 77-48 win.
Waratah Championship League rookie Binta Salawu took out the Most Valuable Player award for the grand final and finished with 14 points, ahead of Chloe Bloom 13, Tatiana Beaumont 12 and Grace Kuypers, of Bullaburra, 10.
The team members are Alannah Mackenzie, Olivia Schneider, Meg Jefferson (Springwood), Sarah Creanor, T'Keyah Smith, Tiana Watts, Salawu, Bloom, Beaumont and Kuypers.
The Penrith U16 men were next up on the main court and had an enthralling first half against the Northern Suburbs Bears - the only team to defeat the Panthers during the regular season.
Penrith led 24-13 at the end of the first quarter, before the Bears settled to dominate in the paint and close to trail narrowly (36-32) at half time.
The young Panthes surged again in the third term, rushing out to a 63-50 lead at the final break then easily holding on for a convincing 88-67 win.
Lachlan Charlton was superb in winning the Most Valuable Player award, leading the Panthers with 31 points, ahead of Zachary Cini 16, Jasper Rentoy 13 and Jake Zalac 10.

Dominika Offner of Springwood is the assistant coach for the Penrith U16 boys team.
In other grand final results, Penrith's Under 16 Division Three men were defeated 85-80 in double-overtime by St George, whilst the Under 12 Division Three men were defeated 57-40 by the Macarthur Heat
