A 28mm downpour couldn’t deter music lovers from kicking up a storm on the dance floor inside festival marquees on Saturday night.
More than 700 people flocked to Mount Beauty for the 17th annual music festival this weekend.
Festival director Margaret Brereton said the three-day festival went brilliantly.
“Come rain, hail, shine and almost a bit of snow, everybody was thoroughly enjoying it” she said.
“The rain didn’t bother anything. If people thought they would be dancing in heels, they just changed to sneakers or blunnies.”
The Alpine town hosted 43 acts over five venues as well as markets and workshops.
“This year things were a little bit different with the venues in marquees,” Ms Brereton said.
“It gave a different feeling from people going in and out of buildings all the time,
“It was spread out due to the natural amphitheatre, so we had to be careful not be too close together.”
The lineup featured a range of local artists such as Albury’s The Northern Folk and Myrtleford’s Mcrobin.
“We love to encourage local bands and young people to get some experience playing live at a festival,” Ms Brereton said.
“However many of the our artists were from out of town and a few international.”
Ms Brereton said the festival concentrates on keeping a diverse range of genres.
“This festival gives everyone an opportunity, from well known acts such as The Pigs right through to the Mount Beauty Community Band,” she said.
