Blue Mountains Netball Association has been crowned state champions at the Netball NSW State Championships.
The open division two team finished in first place, three points ahead of runners-up Mudgee, winning all of their 21 games.
The team were: Alyssa Cook, Carissa Cook, Kendra Culshaw, Ash Eastwood, Lauren Keely-Sines, Ashlea Murphy, Ashleigh Scott, Lauren Smith and Megan Tomkins.
The Mountains 17/U championship side finished in 17th place with three wins against some of the best netball talent from around NSW.
The championships were co-hosted by Newcastle and Charlestown from June 11-13.
More than 1000 athletes took to the courts to contest over 1200 matches across the three days.
Netball NSW competitions manager Claire Dale took time to congratulate not just the state champions, but every player, coach, umpire and official who helped make this year’s tournament such a success.
“We’ve been treated to some fantastic netball across the three days, and I’d like to acknowledge everyone for their efforts this weekend,” she said.
There were 117 teams that took part in the weekend, representing 72 associations.
