The Springwood Growers Market celebrates its first birthday at the Blue Mountains Community Hub on Sunday, August 28.
With about 40 growers and producers offering a range of local and regional food, Mountains’ residents can taste and tantalise their taste buds with an array of delights.
These include fresh organic fruit and vegetables, salt bush lamb, beef, pork and bacon, duck, olives and antipasto, fresh breads, goats, sheep and cows cheeses, olive oils, local wines, nuts, cupcakes, biscuits, brownies, condiments, honey, free range eggs, spices, smoked seafood, gluten and dairy free products, lemon myrtle products, plants and seedlings.
Come early and relax; have a cup of organic espresso coffee or chai tea, with your freshly piped cannoli or Italian donut. The markets also have Turkish gozleme, crepes, gourmet pies, bagels, Taiwanese cuisine, Asian dumplings and much more.
“We have been overwhelmed by the tremendous response from local residents to the markets in the first year, we have been supported by the whole town with people attending each month, and we would like to sincerely thank the community for their ongoing support,” said market manager Nicole Riley.
”We look forward to running the Springwood Growers Market for many years to come.”
As part of the first year celebrations there will be special free food tastings, an array of live performers, two hamper prize giveaways and a new picnic area on the Hub forecourt lawn.
Springwood Growers Markets, Blue Mountains Community Hub, 106 Macquarie Road, Springwood, on the fourth Sunday of every month from 8.30am–12.30pm.
