NSW TrainLink today announced support for the 2016 Leura Gardens Festival by increased capacity for train customers.
All services arriving and departing Leura between 9am and 5pm on the long weekend, October 1-3, and the weekend of October 8-9 will have double the normal weekend capacity available for our customers.
“Leura Gardens Festival is one of the state’s premier annual horticultural shows, offering magnificent floral displays within the wonderful setting of the Blue Mountains during spring time,” said Chief Executive of NSW TrainLink Rob Mason.
“The Festival is a registered charity event run by over 400 local volunteers, with all funds raised going towards the purchase of equipment for the Blue Mountains District Memorial Hospital and other local medical foundations.
“NSW TrainLink is proud to be supporting this important event, with a significant boost in capacity on our trains on the two busy weekends of the festival.
“There will be approximately an extra 4,000 seats both to and from Leura station on each weekend day to provide a comfortable journey for visitors to the festival and other travellers on the Blue Mountains line,” Mr Mason said.
