The Shine community choir got a helping hand from local, state and federal government to sing with a combined choir in New York earlier this year and this Christmas they are giving back.
All the busking proceeds from late night Christmas shopping night efforts [December 8] will go to help the homeless.
Spokeswoman Nicole Giezekamp.said the choir had been regularly “giving back” to the Blue Mountains community via Christmas in July events at the Springwood Uniting Church nursing home.
But they will also perform in front of Springwood Presbyterian Church on the late night shopping event from 7 to 7.30pm and donate the money to Earth Recovery.
Earth Recovery Australia’s Rosa Del Ponte said they were chuffed Shine had thought of them. The group’s Soul Kitchen will open over the holiday season for food parcels on Wednesdays and Fridays between 10am and 2pm. Their Sunday lunch will continue throughout the holidays.
Check the website earthrecoveryaustralia.org.au or Facebook page Blue Mountains Soul Kitchen for updates. Volunteers and donations welcome.
