After just two weeks back in the pool following an operation for an injury behind her knee, Faulconbridge swimmer Jenna Jones has smashed an Australian record.
She’s only been in the water for two weeks.

The 15-year-old Paralympian swam the 200m freestyle in 2 minutes 21 seconds, breaking the previous NSW and Australian age record in the S13 multi-class category set by Prue Watt at 2.29.
Jenna was competing in the Queensland Age and Open Long Course Championships on December 15 and 16 in Brisbane – a meet attended by many interstate and international swimmers.
Jenna’s coach Nick Robinson was blown away by her results. “She was out of the pool for eight weeks since Rio [Paralympics]. And she’s only been back in the water for two weeks and wasn’t able to fully use her legs.
“It’s like the equivalent of having had a broken leg with the pain, and coming back from that.”
Jenna also achieved a silver in her 15-16 years age group and bronze in the open category for the 400m freestyle, gold in her age group and silver in the open category of the 100m freestyle, and bronze in her age group in the 50m freestyle.
