A full four-day festival bringing together the Australian community of passionate Camino de Santiago pilgrims and prospective pilgrims will be held in Blackheath from Thursday, February 23 to Sunday, February 26.
Some highlights include a pilgrim dinner on the Friday night plus official festival opening. It will be hosted by Blue Mountains Australia Friends of the Camino.
On the Saturday, there will be talks, presentations, workshops and discussions with guest speakers. There will also be stalls and other activities centred on pilgrims, pilgrim equipment, travel etc.
On Saturday night there will be a pilgrim paella meal starting from 5pm. This will be a sociable evening filled with great food and wine, Camino trivia, singing and a show.
Sunday highlights including Spanish Cooking classes (and how to make Santiago tart), Church services at the Uniting, Catholic and other places of worship, and meet-ups for Camino walking and other hands-on workshops.
There will also be hospitalero training workshops at Glenella, and a Camino training walk from Faulconbridge to Blackheath (overnight at Wentworth Falls).
