A 34-year-old man has been charged after allegedly stabbing a 27-year-old man in the arm in Katoomba last Thursday.
Police were called to Pulpit Hill Rd in Katoomba for a domestic disturbance about 9.30pm on April 6.
Detective Chief Inspector Dietmar Almer said it was alleged the men, who were friends sharing a house together, had an argument that turned physical.
“It is alleged that the 34-year-old male obtained a knife and is alleged to have cut the 27-year-old male on the arm before fleeing the scene,” Chief Inspector Almer said.
The 34-year-old man was found in nearby bushland. He was arrested and taken to Katoomba Police Station where he was later charged with armed with intent to commit a serious indictable offence, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and intimidation.
The injured man was taken to hospital with a small laceration to his left arm that required no stitches, Chief Inspector Almer said.
Drink drive
A man will appear in court after being caught allegedly drink driving and resisting arrest in Springwood on Saturday night.
About 6.20pm, a 54-year-old man was driving an Alfa Romeo along Macquarie Road, Springwood. As he approached the intersection on Hawkesbury Road, he mounted a kerb and collided with a street sign, and then collided with two other vehicles.
The man refused a roadside breath test. He was then arrested and allegedly resisted officers before being taken to Springwood Police Station, where he underwent a breath analysis which returned a reading of 0.223.
He was charged with drive with high range PCA and resist officer in execution of duty, and refuse or fail to submit to breath test.
The man was granted conditional bail to appear at Penrith Local Court on April 27. His driver’s licence was suspended.
Drunken night
About 11pm on Saturday, a 20-year-old man from Katoomba went to the Harp & Fiddle bar, from which he had already been banned. When he was denied entry, he became argumentative and made various threats before hitting a male security officer in the chest.
Police were contacted and located the male at the nearby Family Hotel. He was arrested and taken to Katoomba Police Station where he then urinated in the police cell.
He was charged with common assault, offensive language, malicious damage and continue disorderly behaviour after a move-on direction. He was granted bail to appear in Katoomba Court on May 1.
