For more than a decade, Blue Mountains Cancer Help has made life easier for people with cancer, offering everything from massages to acupuncture to yoga and counselling.
Now it has been renamed as Cancer Wellness Support.
At the relaunch recently, CEO Robyn Yates said the new name responded to what members said they wanted – an emphasis on “wellness” as a key message.
Elaine Holman, who has used the service’s therapies for some years, said it felt positive to be able to say she was going to the “Cancer Wellness Support” offices.
Ms Holman said the organisation’s support had been “life changing” for her.
“I feel the support, I feel the love and compassion.”
The organisation is also seeking corporate sponsors for its building fund.
Cancer Wellness Support Blue Mountains and Cancer Wellness Support Penrith Valley will continue to operate as they have, and to run their op shops in Whitton Street, Katoomba, and in the Aldi complex in High Street, Penrith.
