A truck driver has escaped serious injury after his semi-trailer rolled on the Great Western Highway at Woodford Bends on Friday morning.
The single-vehicle crash happened at 5.30am when the eastbound semi – laden with pet food – rolled onto its side.
The driver was treated by paramedics for a leg injury.
The road was initially closed for about 40 minutes. One lane is open in either direction but there are significant delays with queues up to 3.5km long.
Police are urging motorists to delay their journey or choose public transport instead.
Heavy vehicle inspectors and a salvage operation could cause delays for several hours.
