Blue Mountains Mayor, Mark Greenhill joined other mayors around Sydney last week, working as a seller of The Big Issue magazine on it's special 21st birthday edition.
The Big Issue is a social enterprise where sellers receive half the proceeds of the magazines they sell.
The fortnightly magazine supports the homeless to help themselves, while raising consciousness about the disadvantaged.
“Mayors were teamed up with sellers of the magazine and 100 percent of sales from the event went to the seller,” Mayor Greenhill said.
"I worked with Trevor who is an amazing man and an icon of Katoomba. His story is compelling. Now he gives talks on homelessness and raises awareness of this vital issue.
"He has lived it. His generosity is boundless.
"Trevor and I did well with our sales. Of course we did. He is such a charming and inspiring man," Mayor Greenhill said of their stint outside the Blue Mountains Cultural Centre in Katoomba.
The Big Issue has sold more than 11 million copies and earned $25 million for its vendors over its 21 years.
