Be amazed and astonished as a cabaret circus show gears up for three very special performances at the Blue Mountains Cultural Centre.
The circus style cabaret will be held in the City Art Gallery space at the centre, transforming the area into a late night cabaret style setting with multiple stages, performers hanging from trapezes with musicians and acrobats.
The event is being run by Blue Mountains Artists Network and the first show is on October 21. The group put forward the Ah Ha Circus proposal to ensure Mountains artists could perform locally and received funding this year from council for the events.
It will be a night of “vaudevillian variety and wonder”, said organiser and ex-Circus Oz performer, Stuart Christie, featuring music, comedy and circus performance.
“Ah-Ha will bring together the up and coming, professional, local, national and international performers under the same lights.
“Imagine entering into a traditional council facility, which you have only seen open during the day to borrow a book or see an exhibition, transformed into a late night cabaret venue. The room is dimly lit with intimate gatherings of tables and chairs, the walls hung with lush curtains and the room filled with mystery.
“There are multiple stages around the room, all at different levels, performers hanging from trapezes on freestanding aerial frames, musicians set in the crowd, acrobats right in front of you, all whilst you are able to enjoy a supper and relax with friends.”
Two more shows will take place in December and another early next year.
