Sophie Monk is returning to reality TV - but on a different network and in hosting duties rather than the contestant's chair.
The recent Bachelorette favourite has revealed she will be hosting Nine's new dating show, Love Island.
"It's just young people from 18 to 35 who are going to hook up on an island," she explained to Nine's Today hosts Deb Knight and Tim Gilbert about the upcoming show.
"Australia kind of chooses who is in love... I'm so excited to watch it and be on the other side for once," she said.
Nine's Love Island is based on the scandalous UK series of the same name, which throws 12 exhibitionists on an island resort with the goal of coupling up. In a romantic twist, they have to prove to viewers their love is real to be crowned winners at the end.
The series has drawn major controversy in the UK across its two seasons, with the UK government's media watchdog investigating the show last season after a scene showing two contestants having sex in front of their housemates earned complaints from viewers.
Another contestant in the show's first season, Zara Holland, had her crown as Miss Great Britain revoked after she was shown having sex with a partner on the show.
Like its UK counterpart, Nine's "multi-million dollar" version is set to be shot in Spain.
"How awesome will it be to work in Spain in summer!" Monk said in a press statement. "Love Island is like nothing Australia has ever had, it's right up my alley! I'm so excited, it's ridiculous!"
Nine's announcement comes after weeks of speculation they were set to poach Monk from Ten, where she was still contracted following record ratings for The Bachelorette.
Her new stint at Nine will also include hosting a travel special and becoming a "digital ambassador" for the network's women's lifestyle brand 9Honey.
Love Island Australia will air on Nine in 2018.
