A man has been taken to hospital in a critical condition after he was pulled from the water at Bondi Beach on Monday afternoon.
Paramedics were called to the beach at about 3.30pm to treat the man, who is believed to be 60.
A NSW Ambulance spokeswoman said the man suffered a cardiac arrest and was worked on by lifesavers.
He was rushed to St Vincent's Hospital, where he remained in a critical condition on Monday afternoon.

Acting Inspector Greg Highfield from NSW Police said the man was injured when he was knocked over by a wave.
"The man's injuries were caused by being up-ended by a shore break ... [he] quite possibly landed on his head," Acting Inspector Highfield said.
He said other swimmers "noticed the man was in cardiac arrest" and started CPR while lifeguards were alerted.

A large crowd of people watched as the man was treated on the sand.
The incident comes after two people died in drowning incidents on northern NSW beaches over the weekend.
A woman died after she was pulled from the water at a Coffs Harbour beach on Sunday evening, while a 14-year-old boy drowned after getting into trouble off Flynns Beach in Port Macquarie.
