Lower Blue Mountains Rotary Club has put out the call for volunteers to help with Australia Day celebrations at Glenbrook.
Club president Rennie Schmid said the celebrations at Glenbrook Park “will be bigger and better than ever” this year.
“The club will really appreciate assistance from citizen volunteers prepared to assist Rotarians and partners with preparations and conduct of the day,” he said.
Residents interested in helping can contact Rotary’s Australia Day committee chairperson Pamela Noal (0447 778 870) or roster chairperson Peter Agar (0421 582 666) and register their names and contact details.
Australia Day 2018 at Glenbrook Park will feature several changes, including:
- New spectacular opening ceremony concept planned for 9am under the marquee that houses the musical entertainment each year.
- The annual gnome convention has a new location next to the Glenbrook Cinema car park, between the public toilet block and tourist information centre.
- Easy access to the children’s activity area on the eastern side of the Glenbrook CWA Rooms, where the gnome convention was previously based.
Ground Marshall John Van Der Meer reports that practically all ground space is now booked with a tremendous variety of food, craft, produce and entertainment stalls.
