Following a sensational sold-out show last month at Blue Mountains Theatre, Glenn A. Baker returns to host another fantastic night of nostalgia and 1960s music with the acclaimed Nancy Sinatra & Lee Hazlewood Experience on September 14.
Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazlewood were pop’s weirdest duo, a beauty and the beast pairing, whose quirky success confounded the critics while creating some of 60s America’s most iconic pop.
Nancy Sinatra’s singing career was at a standstill when she was introduced to writer/producer Lee Hazlewood. The result was the worldwide hit, These Boots Are Made For Walkin’.
When it finally became time for Nancy to do a duet, she would have no-one but her producer, the gravelly baritone Hazlewood.
A string of hits followed, single-handedly creating a genre variously described as “saccharine underground” and “cowboy psychedelia”.
Their iconic, eponymous 1968 album Nancy & Lee spawned some of the duo’s best songs and inspired generations of musicians.
Now, the Nancy Sinatra & Lee Hazlewood Experience reimagines the sixties through the eyes of the iconic and culty Nancy & Lee and stars renowned stage, film and television actor Zoe Carides as Nancy, Scott Holmes as Lee and an all-star band including former red Wiggle Murray Cook on bass.
Fresh from sell-out shows in Sydney and Melbourne, they’ll be running riot through Nancy and Lee’s classic hits.
They include These Boots Are Made for Walkin’, Jackson, Summer Wine, You Only Live Twice, Sugar Town, Lightning’s Girl, Something Stupid, Bang Bang, Up, Up and Away, the trippy Some Velvet Morning and more gems from the Nancy and Lee catalogue, as well as many more fabulous solos and duets.
It will be an unforgettable night of nostalgia and great music.
