Treeview Estates, an over 55s retirement village in Lithgow, hosted an exclusive performance of the play, Crossing, on May 30.
Celebrating the bicentenary of the crossing of the Blue Mountains by Blaxland, Lawson and Wentworth, the play was written by Wendy Blaxland, a direct descendant of Gregory Blaxland.
Special guests at the performance included members of the Blue Wave crossings re-enactment party who were retracing the steps of the original explorers.
"Guests vividly experienced the tales and tribulations of the European explorers as they navigated their way through uninhabitable wilderness on their journey to find a successful means of transport through the mountainous interior of the well-loved Blue Mountains," said a Treeview spokeswoman.
"The audience was captivated by this theatrical portrayal, which was a credit to the brilliant cast and writing. Crossing illustrated the journey in an educational and entertaining manner that had the audience hooked from the beginning."
Visitors to Treeview Estates enjoyed traditional food and beverages such as damper, billy tea and colonial style cakes after the performance.
