Two drivers were lucky to escape serious injury after their heavy vehicles collided on the Darling Causeway at about 10.35am on Wednesday, June 25, just 500 metres north of Mt Victoria railway station.
When emergency services arrived at the scene they found one driver uninjured while the other had minor injuries and was taken to Katoomba Hospital for treatment.
The Darling Causeway was closed in both directions for hours while emergency crews worked at the crash site and a crane was brought in to lift the heavy vehicle that left the road and rolled onto its side.
There were extensive traffic delays on the Great Western Highway west of Blackheath and on the Bells Line of Road.
Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
